About Me

From a young age I was writing stories, correcting library books, and editing the writing on the backs of cereal boxes.   Correcting grammar and writing better copy became almost an obsession.  I determined that I needed to either find a more constructive outlet for my writing and editing or give up cereal entirely.

It was then that I packed up my pens and paper and headed to Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee to improve my writing abilities and hone my research skills.  I also spent a year at Nottingham University in England studying writing and, ironically, early American history. (The opposition’s perspective is always intriguing.)  Five years later I walked out with a degree in English, communication, and communicative arts.

While at Wisconsin Lutheran I used my red pen to my heart’s content as head writing tutor in the campus writing center.  I also spent a year as a public relations intern for a nearby iced coffee manufacturing facility, quite useful in sustaining my caffeine fix during my overloaded college years.  My grammar obsession received a hearty workout and my writing focus expanded.

Since then, my attention to detail and focused commitment to quality have only improved.  My writing and editing experience includes articles, press releases, sales fliers, speeches, newsletters, blog entries, an ebook, and even church plays for children . . . oh, and the backs of cereal boxes.
